![]() ![]() ![]() You can be as soycuck as you want about it, but it's a videogame that has unveiled just how difficult it really is to make a realistic shooter, and how unappeasable a public audience really is, it takes a special kind of brain that appreciates the payoff of hard work by definition to enjoy this game. I won't be supporting further and won't be playing the base game or arena after this. This company is terrible, the worst communicators ever. ![]() What make it worse is that if you purchase arena as a standalone game today, you get access not long after. I opened the launcher and spent the next 15 minutes opening and closing seeing if I could play yet, that Is when I visited twitch and noticed people saying the game was releasing in waves, and apparently you had to watch the live stream or monitor twitter/Reddit to have to know about this. I checked the Twitter yesterday and saw them advertising the beta was dropping later in the day, I was excited to play, so watched the Live stream, which at the end they said you can now play arena. That was the last I heard of the release date and any information about it. In August this year, they announced arena, so I registered instantly, then a couple of months later I heard it was coming early December. I have been aware since the start that EOD would include the DLC Arena. It's been long awaited and is pretty rubbish. A good anecdote is their release of Arena, a sort of expansion they've been working on before Tarkov has even been finished. I think they may be building on sand at this point. Core parts of the game are just buggy "to-do's" such as the sound engine. Time-old issues are going unaddressed while new faults and bugs are added. I thought years ago the game was really going to go somewhere with its balance of realism and practical enjoyability but it's aging faster than it's improving. BSG misused DMCA laws (by their own admission) to strike a channel from YouTube because it was criticising their product/company. I can tolerate torniqueting one's chest (bit odd) until chest seal treatments are added but getting disembowelled by a 7.62-chambered rifle from 6ft away should probably be fatal. In its indecision the 'human' players have become superhuman - incapable of holding up firearms for two minutes but can hear through 4 foot of concrete and survive a bullet to the heart. The game itself is in an ongoing identify crisis. As a result the main feature - combat - is often not very good. You have now bypassed their failed system.BSG created a first person shooter, Escape From Tarkov, (in beta for 5 years) with terrible desync / hit registration. If you own a VPN of any kind simply close the launcher, then connect to your chosen VPN, open the launcher back up and sign in, then disconnect from your VPN before hitting play. How about two step authetication? Or maybe email confirmation? Anything but locking someone out over a singular failed attempt.Įnough venting. It's incredibly stupid and is more than frustrating considering I've dumped over $200 between mine and my wife's account to play their game and support them. However the whole locked out idea should be a last resort. Don't get me wrong BSG is better than some devs out there, especially for being a small team. Well today I failed and got a whole whopping 12 hour ban. Usually I get a minute or 2 minute lockout and then try again. I have my flashlight and laser bound to caps lock so my stupid ass keeps leaving caps lock on so when I type our password I keep messing up. Obviously I've been signing in and out a lot lately. So I've been bouncing around between my account and my wife's account trying to level her to 20. Moderator decisions are final, please respect the moderator team and their actions.
